Logging into VPN is EASY!!!
** Make sure POP-UPS and COOKIES are enabled, at least for UT and Parkland sites.
1. Go to: https://utswra.swmed.edu/
2. Click "Start" next to the "Network Connect" Icon under "Client Application Sessions."
- If this is your first time, you will need to install the Juniper Networks Client.
- If this is not your first time, clicking this button will launch the client.
3. Once the "Network Connect Client" is running, navigate to:
- http://inside.utsouthwestern.edu/clinicalportal/
4. Click on UTSW EPIC Citrix, OR Parkland CITI Web Portal.
5. Download and install the EPIC Client as prompted.
6. If needed, for Windows Vista or Mac, download the NEW client from this site:
- http://www.citrix.com/English/SS/downloads/index.asp (Click on Citrix Clients and pick your OS.)
7. Once EPIC is installed properly, the icon will show up and you can log in!
8. If you need help, call: 214-590-5999 for Parkland support!

Getting Your Medical License!
1. Check your eligibility with the Texas Medical Board.
2. Gather all of the required information, or register with the Federation of State Medical Boards to do it for you.3. Get fingerprinted.
4. Take the Jurisprudence Examination.
5. Call the Texas Department of Public Safety to get an application for your DPS number.
7. Activate your medical license.
8. Be prepared to pay more than $2,350 (cost in 2008) by the time this is all done!

Parkland Mental Health and Clinic Social Work!
Clinic Social Worker: Aime Barahona: (0286) Monday: 8 AM - Noon; Wednesday: 11:30 - 4:30 (for SMA); Friday: 8 AM - Noon. Please provide written referrals for other times during clinical hours. The patients will be contacted the next day.

1) Parkland will see ONLY Medicare and private insurance patients. All other patients will need to be referred to NorthStar/Metrocare.
2) For those patient who are already enrolled in NorthStar/Metrocare and if they have an urgent issue or need meds refilled they can go to an urgent care clinic located on 1340 Riverbend Drive or call 214-743-6188.
3) For those patients who are not enrolled and will need to be, but in the meantime need to be seen ASAP, you can call 214-522-4640. Their clinic is located on 1475 Prudential (near Mockingbird and Oakbrook)
4) Spanish Speaking Patients: Centro De Mi Salud 628 Centre Street in Oakcliff Phone 214-941-0798. I called them today and got an appointment for my patient on Monday (they would have seen her the same day, but she could not make the appointment) - they are VERY helpful. If you have the time, give them a personal call when you refer them. It will get them in faster.
